Celebrating the 80th birthday season of Austria’s premier Viennese classicism interpreter, the Rudolf Buchbinder Mozart Piano Concerto Project II takes the stage on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM in the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall. Following his historic 2024 Beethoven concerto cycle in Seoul, maestro Rudolf Buchbinder returns to South Korea to lead and perform alongside Switzerland’s renowned Lucerne Festival Strings in an all-Mozart afternoon of peerless artistry.

Buchbinder represents a living bridge to the Austrian performance tradition, celebrated worldwide for his scholarly command of authentic original manuscripts and immaculate classical phrasing. In this second installment of his Mozart concerto project, he directs the orchestra directly from the keyboard without an external conductor—a performance practice mirroring the composer’s own 18th-century academies. The Lucerne Festival Strings, renowned for their crystalline transparency and dynamic agility, provide a seamlessly integrated dialogue with the solo piano.
