Start with one exhibition

Allow roughly 60–90 minutes for the museum. Check the current exhibition and any installation closures before visiting: this is a route guide, not a promise that particular works are on display. Museum hours are 10:00–19:00 in March–October and 10:00–18:00 in November–February, with last entry 30 minutes earlier.

Museum admission and closures

Standard adult admission is KRW 500 for permanent or collection displays and KRW 1,000 for special exhibitions, although an exhibition may set another price. Mondays, January 1, Lunar New Year’s Day and Chuseok are closed; a public-holiday Monday shifts the closure to the following day. Check the chosen exhibition before paying.

Continue to the gardens

Leave 20–30 minutes around the plaza for a break and movement, followed by a suggested 60–90-minute walk in one garden. The East Garden closes Mondays and the West Garden Tuesdays; they open when the scheduled closing day is a public holiday. April–October hours are 05:00–21:00, last entry 20:00. November–March hours are 07:00–19:00, last entry 18:00.

Rain and budget

The tropical greenhouse opens 09:00–18:00, last entry 17:30, and closes Mondays. It can shorten outdoor time on a rainy day when open. Arboretum admission is free. Two standard adult museum tickets cost KRW 1,000 or KRW 2,000 depending on display type, excluding special pricing, food and transport. Follow designated garden paths and do not bring bicycles or scooters inside.
