The Joseon envoys exhibition uses paper dioramas and photographs to introduce diplomatic and cultural exchange. Jointly organized by Busan Cultural Foundation and Busan Library, it is free and continues through October 30, 2026, on the library’s third floor. Begin with the explanatory panels, then compare how a procession is represented in different media.

Three themes, three ways of reading
The display has three themes: the story of the Joseon envoys, the procession in dioramas, and the procession in photographs. Read the introductory panels first. The organizers frame the exhibition around the significance of the envoys’ UNESCO Memory of the World records. This does not mean that all original documents are physically on display.
Compare paper figures and photographic records
The official release lists 48 hanji craft diorama pieces and 12 photographs of past reenactment processions. Look at clothing and arrangement in the paper figures, then at the density and movement of people in photographs. The two actual exhibition photographs supplied by BSCF show these distinct parts of the display.

Confirm the virtual program on site
The release also announces a virtual exhibition of 12 records. It does not give detailed session times or equipment-access conditions. Do not treat that as a guaranteed walk-in activity on your chosen day. Ask the library if you want to use it; the panels, dioramas and photographs already offer a complete comparison.
Follow the rhythm of a library
This is a library exhibition, not a live parade or concert. Keep conversations quiet and remember the Monday and public-holiday closures. After viewing, you might look for books about the subject, without assuming a particular title is available or that visitor access includes borrowing privileges. Check separate library services independently.
