Walk before the music

Arrive with enough time to enjoy the pond and garden before heading to Wanwoljeong. Keep the walk flexible rather than trying to cover every corner. Hearing music in a space you have just explored can make the visit more memorable.

Listen for contrasting sounds

The official release names Chunhyangga ensemble singing, folk songs, sanjo, gayageum singing, folk dance and samulnori. Check the actual running order locally. You can simply listen for contrasts between voice, strings and percussion without knowing every genre.

Budget for admission separately

A free concert does not establish free entry to the garden. KTO’s information lists general adult admission at KRW 4,000. Check the current rate for your age, visit time and any exemption rather than transferring the concert’s price to the entire outing.

Have a rain plan

The outdoor performance may be cancelled in rain; contact the National Folk Gugak Center before travelling if the forecast is uncertain. On non-concert dates, plan a garden visit without promising a performance. The photographs are venue references from 2012 and 2015, not pictures of the 2026 concert.
