This Gongju Cultural Date Course pairs close observation of Baekje artifacts with the larger landscape of Gongsanseong Fortress. It is an editorial itinerary, not a bookable package. Allow a separate transfer between the two sites.

Start with a few objects

At Gongju National Museum, focus on several objects in the Ungjin Baekje and Chungcheongnam-do history galleries rather than trying to absorb everything. Each person can choose an object and explain what catches their attention. Permanent-gallery admission is free; some special exhibitions may carry a separate fee.

Check museum closures

Regular hours are 09:00–18:00. Closed Mondays, January 1, Lunar New Year’s Day and Chuseok Day. If a public holiday falls on Monday, closure moves to the next weekday. For autumn 2026, October 5 is open and October 6 is closed. The official visitor page marks evening opening and gallery guide service as temporarily suspended.

Continue outdoors

Transfer to Gongsanseong and compare the scale of the fortress landscape with the details seen indoors. Choose a comfortable section instead of making a full circuit compulsory; slopes and steps require a different pace. Rain or fatigue are good reasons to shorten the outdoor portion.

Hours and budget

Fortress hours are 09:00–18:00 from March to October and 09:00–17:00 in winter, with entry ending 30 minutes earlier. Closed January 1 and the two major holiday days.
