A musician meets King Sejong

Written and directed by Yang Jung-ung, the production brings a modern musician into conversation with King Sejong. Around 60 performers take part. The story offers an entry into the creation and transmission of music without requiring prior knowledge of every court-music form.

Music and dance in a palace setting

Official material identifies daechwita, Bongnaeui, Suryongeum, Chunaengjeon, Cheoyongmu and Yeominrak among the repertoire. The performance lasts about 70 minutes. Listen for changing instrumental colors and watch how song, dance and group movement interact with the outdoor setting.

Two separate admission arrangements

The organizer releases bookings by weekly sessions; check availability and instructions through the National Gugak Center. Free admission does not mean you can arrive without a reservation.

Check the remaining dates

The advertised run contains 15 performances and excludes Chuseok week. From September 22 onward, use the booking calendar to confirm which dates remain, and do not plan beyond October 2. Allow time for palace entry and the walk to Sujeongjeon. Check weather notices and bring a light layer. The supplied images introduce the production rather than showing the seating or conditions on your chosen evening.
